Good work, well seen. I would probably crop some on the right side, where the trees are too superposed and coalesce into a black area.

Interesting.  I had just the opposite reaction and would be inclined to crop on the left side.  I find the light there distracting.

I like where you are going with this.

Add a big layer mask dose of vibrance, like around +90 and about +20 saturation.

I’d likely go back in with a spot brush and tone the blues spots along the back edge of the stand of trees a bit. The color of the trees outside of the trees you’re standing in for the shot and the bit of yellowish color cast on the snow heightens my sense of here is the way out feeling.

You get this.

Interesting idea Larry but IMO (for what it's worth) your version makes it all about color where Dwayne's is about the light.  I prefer Dwayne's but that's just my preference.  Perhaps it's an issue of style.
