I was up at the Venice Rookery doing some fact finding and to see what was to be seen and this guy set still for a portrait.



I kind of liked the eye color.

Then the color in the body was a bit of a surprise to me, a copper or dark goldish brass.

Nice shots. Catch a cormorant in the right light & they can look dark green, coppery, black - just beautiful birds

Wow, I love that green eye in the head shot, but the feathers and water color is great in the next one.  Very nice work. I like shots of birds when the bird is actually doing something other than just standing for a pose best used for ID in a bird book.
