Adding a stroke border in Lightroom 5.7
« on: January 01, 2015, 09:57:41 am »

Is there a simple way to add a black or white stroke border to an image in Lightroom 5.7?

I have Googled but can only find convoluted methods using the Print module and "printing to file". Ideally I would want to be able to add the stroke border to an image in the Develop module and export as a Jpeg (or whatever) in the normal way.

It seems an important feature when preparing images for projected competitions/exhibitions.

There is an tool called Mogrify that adds the stroke border (and much more if you choose) during the Export process. I recommend it.

Inside as-shipped Lightroom, the only way to do this is to use the Print module to add the border and then to print to JPEG.

Mogrify is part of ImageMagick.   Here's a neatly wrapped bundle...........

(note if you have a PC, there are a few more installation hoops to jump through)

Yep. If I wanted to use another programme, I can add a stroke border very easily by going into Photoshop from within Lightroom. But as I prefer to spend seconds, rather than minutes, processing a photograph, I was hoping there might be a one-click solution in Lightroom itself.

It shows up in Lightroom's export dialog as an option like watermark. It is not like using a separate program.

Thanks. Will definitely investigate that.
