Lens Profiles for Sony Edition
« on: December 22, 2014, 06:54:49 am »

I am primarily using Canon-mount Zeiss lenses with my Sony A7. The Sony edition of Capture one does not have lens correction profiles for those, although it has profiles for Canon lenses.

Is there a source from where profiles for the Zeiss lenses can be downloaded or is DIY the only option?

Thanks, Jens

Capture One Pro 8.1 has support for the following Zeiss lenses:
Zeiss Distagon T* 2/35mm ZF.2
Zeiss Distagon T* 1.4/35mm ZF.2
Zeiss Planar T* 1,4/50mm ZF.2
Zeiss Makro Planar T* 2/50mm ZF.2
Zeiss Planar T* 1.4/85mm ZF.2
Zeiss Makro Planar 2/100mm ZF.2
Zeiss Apo Sonnar T* 2/135mm ZF.2

Since we don't sell/support the Sony A7 I'm not sure if the Sony version of this update has such support. If not you might consider upgrading to C1 Pro. Using our Capture One Promo Code will get you 10% off. You can use the free trial to make sure it's the way to go first.

Hi Jens,

As Doug states above 8.1 added much support for Zeiss lenses.

You can still use the Profiles from those lenses in the Express version.

Thanks for your replies, Gentlemen.

I actually downloaded 8.1 shortly after posting here this morning and saw that those lenses are supported now (there were only two Otus lenses in 8.0.2). Unfortunately, two of my lenses are not on that list, the 21/2.8 and the 28.2. I hope Phase One will fix that soon with an update. ;)

David,

Are all FE lenses supported?  Is the 16-35mm already supported?

Thanks, Joris.

Full list of supported lenses is always in the release notes. Listed under documentation on the download page.

All? The only FE lens supported is the kit zoom. If you want lens corrections for your FE lenses, Lightroom has all of them. And these are lenses that were designed in a way that lens corrections are really essential.

C1 can use optics correction that Sony itself puts in a raw file... so FE lenses have profiles, may be not as good as C1 made ones
