UK Portrait Photographer Jane Bown has passed away

She transported her Olympus cameras in a shopping bag, used black & white film and natural light, often window lighting.

Thanks, the obit was interesting, and I set the gallery to full-screen and let the decades scroll-by.

Note: Henri Cartier-Bresson, 1957 (camera in-hand).

I've just been looking at Marion Ettlinger author photos, so it was good to see a different approach.

I learned today her fantastic book Faces is out of print which is a shame. My copy has a prominent place on the shelf. Someone needs to get that book back in print ASAP.
