Qimage and LR not getting along?
« on: December 19, 2014, 12:32:03 am »

Wasn't sure where to post this, but I thought this audience would be heavier users of Qimage and LR users by default to some extent.

Is it my system or does QI and LR share some memory or some resources to screen view or something that keeps getting them hung up.

Qimage sure does take its quirky time to refresh when navigating. And going to and from another program is a battle all in itself.

Any thing I am doing, or tips tricks or solutions ? My production is going at a snails pace with workflow in QI / LR / PShop.

No experience with that combination but if you set the external image editor in Lightroom to Qimage Ultimate you can transfer an image more easily to QU without using Qimage's filing etc much, just the printing features It builds a Tiff if I recall it correctly that you might have to delete later on.

On the other hand there are some preference settings in QU to get hyper printing and hyper thumbing work, the rest is the speed of your system. Not my choice of terms but Mike's.

Thanks. Since I do some final touches and clean up/spot removal in PS rather than LR, I can see the benefit of using the Qi as the export in LR if it helps speed things up. I don't think I will need it as a browser.

My system is not the bleeding edge, but it should be fairly speedy.

You can then set the thumbs off and just get a text list of the images instead.
