Bugs using Yosemte OS on MAC
« on: December 17, 2014, 04:18:59 pm »

There have been some bugs reported with Photoshop CC2014 and LR5 running on a MAC using the Yosemite OS.

Are these still a problem or have they been fixed?

Is it safe to update my OS to Yosemite and have CC and LR work properly?

I'm interested in this question too, as I have not upgraded from Mavericks yet, with these applications work well - do you have any information about specific "bugs" with Yosemite?

Eizo ColorNavigator (at least for the CG243W) is not compatible, rather: the OS has a bug

Here is a link to a bug that has been documented/  It is from the Digilloyd site

I don’t follow bugs in LR much since I don’t use it.  And I don’ t know where this one stands:

Can't replicate it! Digilloyd admits he isn't an LR user so he may not be aware that one must view images there in Develop module at 1:1 for preview accuracy. When I compare a black to white gradient in Develop compared to Photoshop, they exactly match, no crushed blacks.

I agree; I have no problem with blacks in Mavericks and Lightroom 5.x

I too cannot replicate the Digilloyd problem.

However (i) I never use v4 profiles, which according to Eric Chan seem to be implicated, and (ii) in any case I calibrate/profile my monitor using SVII.

I've not experienced any other issues either with Yosemite and any photography apps/plugins that I use.

FWIW

Good point, V4 profiles are by and large simply useless in terms of what they are supposed to provide over V2 profiles and can be problematic for some software products.

Native Digital, a UK retailer where I get most of my hardware, had an article recently about the problems between Eizo and Yosemite.

http://nativedigital.co.uk/site/2014/10/mac-os-10-10-yosemite-compatibility-for-colour-management-applications/

I've got an Eizo CG277 and was told to delay upgrading to Yosemite. Unfortunately my last computer died and the replacement Mac Pro came with Yosemite installed.
