Geminids Meteor Shower
« on: December 14, 2014, 10:50:51 am »

For those who don't know, the Geminids are linked to the rocky asteroid Phaethon, which may or may not be a extinct comet. There was one burst of action toward the end of the shoot when most of us got at least two streaks. I was one of two others who got three.

Nikon D810, Tokina 17-35mm at 17mm, 20 sec @ f:4, ISO 1600

Doesn't look at all like heron, or even an osprey!  ;)

In one of my frames, there is a blurred area where a heron flew through the lens plane. Looks UFO-ish. He flew by several times, I guess to see what all the hulabaloo was about with all those crazy photogs out on the beach.
