If a Z3100 says:

Quote
Sub-version: TR_07_00_00.3
Class:software
Error: assertion
ASSERT_ERROR
File:SpaceRpcElektra.cpp
Line:756
Paper usage: 22.712345 m2
(hard to tell if its a decimal after 22 or comma)

Whats an assert error?
AND
How much printing has this printer seen?

I'm wondering if that is a 22.7 square meters? or ? (as the precision of calculating paper is done in very high accuracy!)
Is this considered a lot of printing?

___

looks like a couple errors, and that paper reading isn't the total, so will repost that info. Meanwhile here is another error code...

Quote
Sub-version: TR_05_00_00.4
Class: Electronics
Subclass: Main Board
Error: DelSol RST
DRACO_EX_ENGINE_BOARD_DELSOL_RST
File:AsicDelSol.cpp
Line Number: 592

This error was much before the first one I posted (looks like a firmware upgrade)

Looks to me like a firmware upgrade too Phil.
The ASSERT ERROR could be refering to a bad formatter board or possibly a voltage spike.  Hard to tell.
Are there any more errors?  Any paper jam errors?

What does the diagnostic chart look like?  Any clogs?

How long has the printer been sitting?

Remember to lubricate the carriage rail ASAP!

Well Mark,
the total sqft is about 240, or about 21sq meters.
Total ink use is about 550mL

Not much use at all then.

BTW, found this on ebay:

The inks make this an interesting opportunity.  Don't know if you're near Burbank....

I like the fact that it is running and has had belt replacement already done.

And, wow, almost full inks.  There is also a "make an offer"  on it.

Not that close, but maybe worth a trip.
I saw that.

As far as the machine discussed above...Having known it had 240sqft is not much use? I figured it tells me that its had a low run, no?
This machine too has full inks.

Another local machine popped up, a 3200ps with extra inks and media $2500 obo
That too is a drive! :-)

If you can afford it, I'd go with the 3200ps with extra inks and media.  You could save a ton of money with the inks.  Media is good, but not if it's what you don't use or need.

It will be a much newer machine, presumably, but it could have the belt problem too.  If you're thinking about it, you could call and ask if it is in service, is running, etc.  If not in service, how long sitting, etc.

Yes, low run.  What size ink carts though?  Setup carts are much less than 130ml full size carts.  Big difference.  69ml

If you figure that just one cart is 130ml and the machine has run only 550 ml, it's not even broken in, really.

Have you run it?  How much are they asking?
