Magic Mountain
« on: December 04, 2014, 07:26:48 am »

Antelope Island and the end of the day. What was so amazing was the light coming from behind me when I took this. The sun had faded and just the soft afterglow remained. The clouds turned from pink to purple touching the snow tipped mountains and I captured the show as it ended. Like I said...amazing.

A ghostly apparition, a mirage! It's a fantastic shot with the mountain in a faint and distant light.

I'd love to see this as an extra large print. Well done!

I remember Michael Fatali's gallery had a darkened corner, with only one large print on the wall, lit with a dimmable spot light. They would vary light intensity to demonstrate how that particular image can appear to glow even under the darkest conditions. This image of yours would be equally suitable for that. Superb!

Thanks for the comments! Funny, my wife and I just visited a Michael Fatali gallery a couple of weeks ago in Zion and we LOVED it for that reason. Very special and I told my wife if I ever open a gallery this is how I want it to be.

Wonderful. IMO, it should be levelled, as it is tilting to the left?

At first I tought the same.

But after placing a ruler, the background mountains seem to be horizontal.

So there is a tradeoff between foreground and background.

As the background is the most illuminated, I would keep the photo like this.
