A new image I just took. I think the blowing Snow really makes this image. My wife held an umbrella for me to get this image and others in the snow.

Camera: Phase One XF IQ3 100.

Very nice, I suspect it will better in print where you won't have the limitations of jpeg

Armand

I have done some test strips at the 30" x 40" size, testing the image to check the toning and sharpness of the image. It looks pretty clean. I am very happy with it. I may try and couple other levels of toning before my final print.

I have two shows and 3 talks next month, we will see if this is an image that one of the galleries picks.

Jpegs are a hard thing they don't show the quality of these files.

Thank you for the comment.

Love the image!  I can see why galleries would want it.

Thanks Cam. I posted 78 images new from this shoot, I will let them decide which ones they like. i get biased into which ones I like, usually based on the effort put in to get them or the back story the image may have.

I would love to see it printed in the 30x40 range on Legacy Fiber - my personal bias.  What paper are you thinking of using?

Hi Cam

I use the Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Baryta. 30" x 40" is generally my smallest print I sell for the non-panos.

Why do you think the legacy paper would be nice?

Thanks

It's really just a personal bias for a more ethereal look.  Given that I haven't used the Hahnemuhle Photo Rag I have no way of knowing how they compare.  I have used the Legacy Fiber for most of my minimalist images and have been very happy with the results.

Thanks for the advice. I am concerned about the tone of these images having to much of a cold feeling. It will take a bit of work to get it right. Right now they are toned to look good on my website against a beige background.

That's a challenging scene to capture. Now that I've been in CO for six months, I've yet to figure out how to capture so much of what there is to see.

I've been here 29 years and I'm still working it out! The classic postcard mountain shots are nice but I want to try for something other than that much of the time.
