Dating images for exhibition
« on: November 28, 2014, 11:35:35 am »

Is there a standard protocol for dating images used in an exhibition? Should the year of image capture be used
or the year the image was finalized for printing? Obviously these two criteria could be years apart.

Thanks

Year of capture.  As you mentioned, year of printing could be years, many years later.

But then, if an Ansel Adams negative (only as am example) were enlarged/printed today, I suppose it would needed to be specified.  Same would hold true for negatives/files of any deceased photographer, I'd imagine (copyright issues?).
