Trees by the Sea
« on: November 12, 2014, 11:19:02 am »

From last week, taken near Broadford on the IoS.

I think the trees in front have been stripped to the bone by the high winds and sea spray over the last couple of weeks.

It was late(ish) afternoon when I took this shot and the scene was partially lit from the left hand side :)

Thanks everyone  ;)

Dave, a masterpiece on so many levels!

Slobodan, I am definitely printing out your comment for my scrapbook  :D

I had gone out with an idea to photograph something completely different, but nothing was right for that idea so I reluctantly abandoned it, but then I just happened to look over the sea wall of the old fishing pier at the back-end of Broadford, and saw a splash of late autumn colour above the shoreline and how the side lighting on the bare bone like structures of the foreground trees looked so nice, so I happily went for that instead. Which just goes to show, that you never really know what you are looking for until you find it.

So once again thank you everyone, I am so glad you like it.  ;D

Gorgeous and rich with detail I could easily get lost in. Well done, Dave.

Lovely!...
I had a strange thought when first viewing the tree on the left, as it reminded me of the anatomy of a human lung (upside down of course),
resembling the Trachea, Broncus, Bronchioles, and Alveoli.
Since trees serve to cleanse the air we breathe, if it were mine, I would title this "Natures Lungs"
I have been doing some mirror image tree studies lately and texturizing them, you could even turn this into a pano such as this if it strikes your fancy. It would be even more fitting of the title I gave it. Just a thought...

Wow, thanks again guys  ;D ;D ;D

Very much appreciated - I quite like your mirrored flip of the image David, but I am not sure that 'Natures Lungs' as apt a title as it actually is, is a name that easily trips off the tongue so to speak, but thank you so much for you comments  ;)
