Moab/Colorado National Monument
« on: October 29, 2014, 10:46:19 pm »

I'll be in Moab next week. Any LumLanders around for coffee just email me. Part of the trip is to show a daughter some classic locations, but she and her friend leave from Grand Junction, so maybe we'll take a look at Colorado National Monument nearby to Grand Junction. The Rim Road write up looks promising. Might it be a disappointment after Arches and Canyonlands?

It's not as spectacular as the other two but definitely worth the visit if you're in the area.

Later,

On your way to Moab from GJ be sure to drive Highway 128 from I-70 to Hwy. 191. One of the most scenic drives in Utah, if you ask me.

My route from Moab to Grand Junction will start with the La Sal Loop road to 128! I'm a bit blasé, but it's exciting to give first timers a taste of the Colorado Plateau.
