The look that you get from a Fresnel is a different kind of look than what I am going for.  Right now, I want to fool around with softer shadows. 

Just found out that my local store rents out the Narrow Beam and Magnum reflectors.  I am off to rent both right now and have some fun this week fooling around.

have you looked at the briese big parabolics? you get the contrast and shadow edge adjustability by moving the central column but the size means the shadows get filled too just like the sky/clouds do with the direct sun.

Which the window frame or curtains will often do too - which is why you may just end-up with small a shaft of light, which a lot of people may not even notice...

.. even though you have blasted it with thing you have got.

Such a small element, yet it adds so much.

Why not call up Devon Reno at Photo Electronics and have him make you one of his patented Sunlight Lights...
