Loch Assynt, Scotland
« on: October 17, 2014, 01:47:45 pm »

It was one of those days, lovely location and the end of day light just started to paint the side of the hills with a intense golden glow; and it went on and on.   Oh for more of these days :-)

You sure you haven't used Dave's Photoshop Scottish Blue Sky plug-in?

It's very nicely done. Wonderful light, lovely composition. I'm just a tad jealous of Scotland without clouds, rain, snow, wind, more rain, mist, and rain.

And midges. Don't forget the midges.

Nice work, Phil.

Gorgeous photograph! You've allowed the beauty of the landscape to speak for itself instead of imposing un-necessary processing.

Terry, this is a succinct statement that is worth thinking about with regards to processing. :)

Hi Phil,
impresive colors, what lens you used for this picture?

Thank you

Really beautiful image, it has that crystal clear air and clean but soft light look about it that you get up here, great composition and a great shot  ;)

Bill, you really do get days up here when the clouds actually do lift off the ground for more than a couple of feet you know, although today was not one of them I have to admit, what with the tail end of hurricane Gonzalo blowing through and all :D

Thanks Dave.  Hopefully your weather will improve as I am up there tomorrow for the week :-)

Well I know you wanted some active weather during your visit to Skye Phil and that is exactly what is being forecast right through until at least this coming Sunday, with high winds and horizontal rain due to the after effects of hurricane Gonzalo and the ongoing cyclonic weather formations barrelling into us from across the Atlantic, that Gonzalo seems to have set in motion.  :(

So in this case and I do hope I am wrong, but for the coming few days I think Bill might be right and you will definitely be needing your "Photoshop Scottish Blue Sky plug-in"  ;)

I'm happy just enjoying such a lovely photo without having to worry about weather or midges.

The midges finished really early this year due to a cold snap we had in late August, so we have been midge free for months already, which is nice  ;)

Yep it looks like an interesting drive up this weekend :-)

Fingers crossed for some gaps in the sideways rain!

This works well for me.  I like the trees, and the background adds to the composition.
