Armageddon ~ Yellowstone in Winter.
« on: October 12, 2014, 02:46:00 pm »

Captured during the winter months in Yellowstone. Such fantastic opportunities for landscape photographers.

Any and all feedback is welcome.

Thanks for looking.

Amazing. the only nit I have is with the sliver of snow in the bottom. I wish I had more, or none at all.

Nicely done, though I too would like to see a little more foreground snow

Magical indeed - a veritable fairly land.

My only suggestion is to crop about 15% from the left, leaving the tree and the column of vapour nicely balancing each other.

Very dramatic. I confess that I don't need to see more snow here. I wondered what the hot springs would look like in winter...

If I could write like Thoreau, I'd be able to put in words just how powerful this is !

Thanks to you all for your very kind feedback, much appreciated.

Kevin has an article that I wrote for LuLa about Yellowstone in Winter, together with about 12 various images of this winter wonderland in the queue to be published soon. I'd enjoy any feedback or comments if you manage to view the article. It will be in a similar format to my 'Symphony in Stone' article.

Thanks,
Nigel.

Have to ask how you got in there to shoot this?

Snow mobile or Ton-Ton?
