I have used an AE to extend ethernet laser printers for years, in both old and new versions of the AE. The new one also has a label maker on the USB port and it works fine but often the Mac doesn't know if the device (USB) is 'online' or what label stuff is loaded. I've heard of other 'issues' w/ USB printer sharing/extension so I'd strongly urge ethernet. That said, if that is the primary purpose of the AE, then you may want to consider powerline converters instead which have gotten really good in the last 5 years and avoid any vagaries of wireless and realworld data transfer rates vs. what wireless *should* do.
