Good to hear Scott. Many think that landscapes should be shot with wide angle lenses only. I also see workshop participants coming without a 70-200 and they really miss out on a lot of shots.
I like to use wide angles for people and also think telephotos are ace for landscape work.
But in this occasion, this was my favourite photo of that selection.

Thanks very much and this one was shot at 16mm on the Canon 5D III. Actually the new Canon 16-35 f/4L IS lens.

I was wondering about replacing my 16-35mm f2.8 with this lens as I've heard such good things about it, plus finally a wide zoom with IS.

That's exactly what I did and what a difference. I also have the Nikon 14-24 f/2.8 and I have shot a number of shots using both and the Canon has won so far. I don't use the IS for landscapes, of course.

Have you ever tried the Via Ferratas? Brenta has the most famous ones. Terrific views from the high paths for those with head for heights.

No, but have thought about it. Not sure my stomach would like it though ;)

The Nikon is also meant to be a great lens, so praise indeed. IS certainly isn't much use for landscapes as they tend to be tripod mounted, but I do a lot of handheld work in dingy light and it'd be nice to retain the fine detail.
