Not sure what the point is. Yes the 645z is a one piece camera not a back. I knew that. "My point" was that Phase One has never supported any non Phase One MF platform that I am aware of. Be it a DSLR design or removable back. To continue to complain about Phase One not supporting a non Phase One MF platform to me is wasted space.
It's a business decision for Phase One. Just like a studio choosing a 645z over a IQ250. One facet of the decision is that your studio will no longer have the ability to use C1 on those files. The total MF market when compared to the 35mm DSLR market is so much smaller I can understand why Phase One made such a choice. They have very good camera support where they deem it non competitive to their flagship MF product line, IQ and Credo.
There are work arounds albeit not perfect but they can get you to where you can use C1 on the 645z. As for profile support I would be very surprised if either the default Phase One IQ250 or Credo 50 profile did not work fine on the 645z file once you get it opened. It's the same chip in all of these cameras and the Hassleblad 50c.
