8:25 a.m. - Maputo

My attempted foray into Russ, Stamper and Seamus's territory.

The guys in the pub at this hour caught my attention, the peanut seller added another dimension.

I'd say it's  a cracker of a shot, but I am afraid Stamper would find it racially charged ;) (the term, not the shot itself)

Ain't gonna happen, my friend. I'd never try to keep you from making an . . . of yourself. Problem is, I hold you in high regard with respect to your technical abilities. You've helped me with post-processing on more than one occasion. I'd hate to see you lose respect over unimportant crap like bad jokes.

Indeed. The girl's stoic and resigned expression is worth a picture in itself, but the pub guys create a stark (social) contrast to it. Having to work at such a young age, juxtaposed to seemingly easy-going guys, a connection that might be extrapolated to one of them actually spending the money his own kid earned (a situation not unheard of in many other parts of the world).

I shall add that this is one of the best street shots (however you define it) I've seen on this site for a while.

Regardless of genre, I find it to be an interesting and fine photograph.
