Snowdonia Evening
« on: September 30, 2014, 02:32:15 pm »

Well it isn't that high by most standards, but Mount Snowdon is the tallest mountain in England and Wales! On this particular evening after a day of heavy rains, the evening light made a welcome return.

Appreciate all thoughts on composition, processing, etc. etc.

Thanks

Mountains too low, maybe you could raise that up a bit.  Seems like you've also lost some clarity in the far laying shoreline, that might just be the low res.  But I love how the clouds are tucked into the valley revealing the "lowly" mountain, and the grass in the water is a great addition to the reflection.

I'd hate to lose any of that nice sky, but if you do take a little off the top it would give the mountain more prominence, and you still get to keep the sky in the water.

I like it as it is.

Thanks guys; appreciate all the feedback.

I did look at the crop to place the far shoreline on the 3rd, but it felt squashed to me and I preferred the symmetrical aspect with the reflection in the lake

Beautiful moment captured beautifully. I'm not a big fan of the centrally-placed shoreline, though. It creates too much of a tennis match composition.

Thanks guys - made me look at this again

Moving the far shoreline to the top 3rd, made me notice the grasses in the water more - and placed them on the bottom 3rd; so I liked the change :-)

Hopefully works for you all?

I like it. As a bonus, the band of mist seems a little brighter somehow.
