I've been playing with darkening up shots a lot and with this one, I went a fairly long way.
What is it?
The glacier coming down Mont Blanc behind Chamonix.
When I took this shot there was predominantly on the bottom (and very rough) area of the glacier. Since the valley walls and trees close to it were all quite muted, there didn't seem to be any reason to keep them (the glacier was the subject) so I just brought the black levels up to exclude almost everything except the glacier. If folks are interested, I can post what it was like "out of camera."
