Moving LR catalog to my External Drive..drag and drop?

Hi Folks,

I need to move my LR Catalog to my external drive where my image files reside..it's getting to big for my Laptop drive.

Is a simple drag and drop ok?

After that, will LR find my catalog in it's new place automatically?

Assuming the images don't move, yes, moving the catalog folder (with the catalog and previews) to a different drive is pretty easy, drag and drop. Be sure to double click the catalog in it's new location so LR doesn't get confused about where the catalog lives.

Not sure what you mean by 'double click' the catalog..Go to the new drive and simply do a double click on the folder as if to open it?

I had also planned on deleting the original copy of the Lightroom folder in my internal (sys) drive..would that solve the problem for LR?

Got it done. Pointed to Lightroom to open a different catalog and things are fine..
