Photo locations in Japan
« on: September 10, 2014, 08:11:56 am »

I will be spending 3 weeks in Japan during November, camera clutched in my hot little hand. It's a family vacation so I likely won't have many opportunities to go off into the countryside on my own for landscapes, but I'd love suggestions for good city locations in Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto, Okayama, and Tokyo - temples, gardens, street life, markets, and the like. Thanks in advance.

Look for the small details wherever you happen to be, particularly in the cities. Small hidden shrines in neighborhoods for example. Rain chains.  We ran across a computerized water fountain at the Kyoto JR station, but downstairs in the local train operator's station shopping area, that was displaying pictures of local sights in its patterns. Local parks and small private gardens. The time between dawn and when everyone else gets up is good for walking the neighborhoods, although November may not have much light or time.
