If Canon comes out with a 20D type camera with 10+ MPs, I'll bite. That's a 20% increase in pixel count.

True. But only a 4.4% increase in resolution at best and in practice somewhat less than that because of lens limitations.

For my lowly 10D it would be about a 67% pixel increase (more like 25% for your 20D).
I'm holding my breath.

I'm violating some NDA's here but I do have a picture of the back of the next camera from Canon. I got this from "solid sources" from "deep within" Canon. With the advent of quantum storage devices expect Canon to release a 60MP camera. At least. Seriously.

Whose is it?

I'd love to get permission to reproduce it.

It's one of those images that circles the net with no known creator. I actually got the image from this forum about the time the 20D rumors were circulating. I think it was originally posted here by Jonathan but I could be wrong.

How typical of Canon. Two major flaws: (1) They still don't have the mirror lockup button, and (2) even though they now have the Adams mode button we've all been asking for, you still need to wade into about six levels of menus to set the Weston mode. Sorry, but I'm just gonna have to wait for the 1DsMKIIIII with 80 MP.

I'm a bit disappointed. How will I know when to poop? Really, that was funny!

But it's missing the most important invention that I'm sure camera designers must be working on: a little LCD display with arrows to point out to the photographer where the best view is, i.e. where to point the camera.

Or maybe a neural network to analyze what's in the viewfinder and figure out where the photographer is by comparing with a database of photos, pick the best image of that location out of the database, and then download that image to the camera.  Never a "bad light" day again!
