Thanks for providing sample raws in the open, I like that! Files look awsome.

I've just committed Leaf Credo 50 support to the RawTherapee project, so the camera will be supported in the next build :-)

(If not exactly the same, the raw colors is at least very highly similar to IQ250, which in its turn is highly similar to both H5D-50c and Pentax 645z. The quick patch I just made simply means that Credo 50 files will be rendered the same as IQ250 files, unless you load specific color profiles that is.)

The JPG links only return the thumbnails onscreen and from dropbox - unless the Credo does only really shoot 350 x 263 images ?

Lots to like - obviously - but not the price.

Now we know... P1 decided to "protect" their decision for insane pricing of the IQ250... If Hasselblad will decide to market their versions of the back (50, 50ms, 200ms) as CF open system, they are "dead ducks"....  Actually, since obviously this back is the start of a new range of backs which will lead an all MF revolution, it may be the last chance for Hasselblad to re-start the engines and take back the market they so foolishly offered to competition.

They even offer the back for V camera users...  ;D ....do they expect to find a customer?  ??? ...Ohhh they offer 1 hour shots with it! The price is justified!  ;) Ok... One'll buy a S/H P25+ from the remaining change there are left from a new CFV-50c...  :P

Maybe this is off topic but when I view our past work, there is very little if any that would be different with newer cameras.

This was shot with an old Nikon D2x and a Nikon Push Pull zoom that I love.

I had newer cameras in our cases and could have used them, but I dunno, the d2x kind of fit the scene, I like the files so I shot it with that.

The next was shot with a Canon 1ds1 (the original).  Once again I had newer cameras with more mpx but it looked good on the Canon so I shot it.

I'm not saying new still cameras aren't needed, (though in reality I think it's more want than need) but in the last few years all but three cameras I bought were what I needed.

The REDs because they gave me a true cinema look at 4k (there was very little affordable 4k at the time) and the pana gh3 because I had some gigs where I needed fast autofocus for motion lifestyle.

The three other cameras I bought the Leica S2 and the olympus em-1 and 5 just because I wanted them.  I have to admit the Lecia and olys are more fun, but the RED's and panasonics are much better for our bottom line.

IMO

BC

P.S.  My partner and producer said to me on this current gig "are you going to buy another camera?".  I thought about it and said well uh, maybe . . . uh actually no.

She said good because you have shelves of cameras you don't use.  She's right and I guess I should sell some of them, so I had the d2x boxed up, ready to ship to someone who would buy then thought, hmm I really like the look of that camera, so I guess I'm as big a gearhead as anyone.

And i guess she would say "no" even more emphatically to $27K :)

For me 2014 is looking like compact camera year: I shot a Sony RX100 -quite nice- sold it, got a DP3M -stunning- with which I'm continuing. For me, it's now not business, it's a hobby, I mostly do street photography, and small is now ok.

My guess is that it will be available when the Credo 50 begins shipping.

A friendly source has told me the Credo 40/60/80 firmware updates will come at a later date than the Credo 50.

Will there be a H4X price drop? Discontinued?

Read Frank Doorhof's review of the Credo 50 today: http://www.frankdoorhof.com/site/2014/09/leaf-credo-50-user-review/

I must say, I am impressed by what Leaf has managed to do with that sensor. The colors definitely look quite Leaf-like and if the price wasn't double that of a Credo 40, I could see myself upgrade to one some day.

It seems like a well designed product.

I just started shooting it today for a review. I shot the DF today and will continue on with a tech cam for the rest of the week. After owning 5 different backs this gets the best High ISO one I ever seen and live view rocks. Something to be said for the change to CMOS and the files look outstanding so far. Don't ignore this in any buying plans, must look at its attributes. Folks I'm talking very clean ISO 3200 and more important nice smooth look.

Good to hear that, Guy. Would you be doing portraiture work with it?
