Antelope Island
« on: September 06, 2014, 01:34:53 pm »

My first treks to the wilds of Utah since I've moved. Antelope Island is located close to Salt Lake City. It is a state park with all kinds of wild life to include antelope, deer, coyotes and things I probably don't want to encounter. But by far at least in summer as I've learned to my dismay is the mosquitoes! Never in all my travels have I been assaulted to the point I could not even concentrate enough to make a composition. My car was literally covered. One other local photographer told me it gets better in autumn. "You picked the wrong time of year to move to Utah!" as he drove off. Funny..or not. Anyway, Antelope thunder for your viewing pleasure.

I thought I was going to miss your foggy German landscapes, but this looks very promising!

Very nice moment!

I assume the darker clouds lower down are clouds of killer mosquitos.   :D

You know what is funny about that is you are almost correct. I spent a good 10 minutes cleaning out mosquitoes from the capture mostly at the bottom.

The dynamic in the clouds, both the perceived movement and tones, is wonderful.
