Clogged Nozzle [ MK ] // Epson 9890 // Damaged Head ?
« on: September 02, 2014, 10:33:11 pm »

Hello Everyone,

Im new here. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I have several large format Epson printers, all of which have run great for us.

Just ran in to some banding with our Epson 9890.. on the MK ink... and cant, for the life of me, get this to clear with any of the cleanings.

I have not tried the safe mode cleanings yet, but wanted to post these nozzle checks here for some feedback... has anyone seen anything like this?

The interesting part is that the outer edges of the MK appear to not be totally vertical... they almost do like this ... [ > ] instead of [ | ] make sense...?

Right now, if we print black at anything below 2880, there is banding.

We can print at 2880 with the print appearing to not be banded...

Does this like a print head paper strike..?

Any and all info or feedback is very much appreciated.

OK, based on the amount of dust and paper fibers I found saturated with black ink on the wiper [ after sliding the print head out of the way ] .. Im guessing that some of this debris is stuck on the face of the print head.. does anyone know how to access that to remove debris?

Any other tips?
