fuji s9000/9500 vs olympus 8080

I need your opinion on this two cameras, with special regard to ISO capabilities and lens quality.

The Fuji is disappointing, too much noise reduction gives the images a mottled look; with no way to remove it! ...

Noise reduction in the fujis is definitely an adventure.

I totally disagree. The s9000 takes photos which under most conditions are as good as a DSLR. The mistake we make is to look at photos blown up to huge size to look for every little flaw. This shows shortcomings that are not visible with normal size prints.

That said, from viewing pictures taken at various photography sites I have to believe the s9000 is superior to the 8080.

Chasseur d'Image tested recently both the E900 and Fuji 9500, and their conclusion was also that it does have a very significant lead in high ISO noise compared to all other compact cameras, even considering the detail absorbing effect of the noise reduction.
