Balancing Act
« on: August 26, 2014, 08:27:16 am »

It pays to revisit your files ever so often. I'd put this shot aside after deciding the two Sunset Cruiser shots the most worthy to process. Last night as I was tidying up my cataloging, I rediscovered this shot and now, I am almost as pleased with this as I am with those in flight because it is the delicacy of the light I find more important than just the act of flying...though the second one in that series printed lovely on metal/hi-gloss.

Chris,

I like this one better than either of the other two.

Sometimes the leftovers taste better the next day.

Cloning time!

1. the branch in the upper left is a. distracting b. out-of-focus c. easy to clone. 2. the twig between the legs is a. distracting b. easy to clone

Otherwise, a great shot!

It was a bit more a difficult cloning job on the top branches, piece of cake on the bottom one. I also cut back the length of the top thicker branch.

I very much appreciate everyone's comments on this image. Last night, when my first test print came back, I decided there were some issues in the shadows which seemed overly grainy compared to the sky so I went back and reworked the entire image. Taking everyone's suggestions into account, here is the image sent off for the second test print.

(Cheesy title but just to separate it from the other edits.)

Much better title than "Grain Between My Wings" :)

A good shot, Chris. The sky was very cooperative. Once I get back to Florida, guess I'll have to get up earlier.
