Southwest Portugal Coast - again
« on: August 26, 2014, 05:50:57 am »

Good morning,

Some shots from a recent venture into this favourite area of mine, both early and late in the day.

#1 - 10 minutes exposure
#2 - 4 seconds exposure
#3 - 25 seconds exposure
#4 - 20 seconds exposure

All taken with Olympus EM1 and Zuiko 12-40mm lens.

Regards.

#1 - ethereal, not a fan of the jutting rock in lower left
#2 - seems unnaturally turquoise
#3 - Looks pushed a bit?
#4 - Love everything about it

First and last are my favorites, the light and colors are impressive. #3 is interesting but with a good foreground on the left but not as good as #1 & #4. Photo #2 is my least favorite, perhaps, as Maddog wrote, because of the color of the light or the lack of contrast?

Anyway, it was a good thing to wake up early (or go home late)!

Thanks for the comments.

#2 was taken just as the sun was rising, one can actually see it lighting the top of the cliffs in the distance. I like the contrast this tiny sliver of warmth makes with the coolness of the water.

This is a beautiful stretch of coastline, that for sure I will revisit a few times in the year.
