As I don't use flash I rarely have nice catchlights; obviously I need a Sony camera

The right way to produce eye reflections is to use the lighting you shoot with, or add for effect.

Soft light with a specular reflection "catch light?" is confusing.

Yes, the right way to make photographs is to take photographs. But it seems their parents failed to inform the iPhone generation of this fact.

Actually I think once or twice in my life I have retouched a light into someones eyes.

The fact that this can now be automated (in camera!) seemed worth posting; I have no doubt we will also see self-illuminating contact lenses soon.

I'd rather see a new line of high powered led lighting, that runs off of v lock battery's modifiers that resemble, par, fresnel, that really do put out 450 watts, not equivalent watts.

Mod some LED car headlights. They won't produce a lot of heat so the mod should be feasible.
Or put a bundle of LED lightbulbs in a big rectangular Annie Leibowitz style lightbox, make a bank of them, you'll be able to make even Mrs Clinton look ageless

Hey Cooter have you checked out these LED lights?

No fresnel version. But they are very clean colour rendering index wise (95+) and much brighter than others around. The real life output of the Truecolor HS is close to a 4K soft light. The XS is more than a 6K Brute.
