Police and our right to witness
« on: August 14, 2014, 08:45:09 pm »

Democracy is like a mechanism more or less well designed and oiled. History is filled with powerful individuals and interest groups doing everything to suspend it. Using twisted laws, money and brute force these individuals are in direct collision course with democracy and our freedoms. The rights of citizens to take pictures in dramatic events such as social and political unrest are challenged again and again. In "The Atlantic" the journalist Olga Khazan writes an account on the subject. Here's the link, http://www.theatlantic.com/national/archive/2014/08/you-can-take-any-police-officers-photo/376064/
And for images taken under pouring rain showing the police gathering strength before clashing with citizens, visit my essay "G20 Clash of Civilizations" http://eugenflorinzamfirescu.com/items/g20-clash-of-civilizations-3/
