Since I upgraded to the latest version, the program degrades raw images when it loads them, making them darker and reducing contrast. The resulting pano of course looks awful. Anyone else have this problem?

No since I don't use PTGui on raw files (I very much prefer the conversions from C1 Pro/DxO), but you should contact Joost on this. He is very responsive and usually fixes issues within a few days.
