Ice wall
« on: August 06, 2014, 10:16:28 pm »

Kevin,

I really love the picture you have posted here.

The key was obviously the perfect timing when this was shot, with the sun just casting light on what appears to be water falls whil keeping some of the walls vertical ice "canyons" in the shadow.

Cheers,
Bernard

Thanks, for all of us there it was perfect timing.  Actually had to put the camera down for a while and just soak it all in.

The light transforms the scene into something magical!

Really wonderful image. Those water/ice falls are really luminous. And I like the scale the two birds convey.

If you go to Kevin's blog and see the larger version, you see the third bird, just above the shelf left of center. That really gives it scale!

Marvelous image Kevin. The light, timing, birds, water, ice, clouds,... All came together. Great shot.
