Alley in Georgetown, Colorado. Which one?
« on: July 22, 2014, 09:18:37 pm »

I found this intriguing alley in Georgetown, CO. I'm having a difficult time deciding on which exposure to use. My wife likes the first one but I think I prefer the tighter crop. What's your opinion? Do you like one better than the other? Why?

Thanks for your help.

As usual, the wife is right ;-)

However, as compromise is important in a marriage, how about this: her preferred crop (i.e., no crop) but you then darken the left and bottom side to concentrate attention on what you find important?

My invoice for marriage counseling is in the mail (post-processing tip is free). ;)

Thanks, Slobodan. I enjoyed your response. They are actually different exposures. I'm thinking that some cropping of the first one that leaves the flower pot in tact and retains more of the building might be good - something like this:

Yes for the compromise!  That was my thought exactly and when I saw the third one it just clicked.   Nice shot!
