Lisbon panorama
« on: July 14, 2014, 04:15:39 am »

Good morning,

Last Friday I went on a geology field trip to check some outcrops outside of Lisbon. Once back in town, I took this panorama from one of Lisbon's famous view points. Looking at downtown and the castle, with the Old Sé (patriarchal church) on the right hand side. I knew the full moon's rising time, so I was prepared for that.

Details: 6 shots stitched with Panorama Factory, taken with Olympus OMD-EM1 and 17 1.8 lens.

Regards.

Lovely.  I can think of a nice fado to go with it.  I hope you got a closer shot of the castelo in this light.

Really interesting shot.  I like the perspective and framing.

Thanks guys.

Rajan, unfortunately the only lens I had at the time was the 17mm one. The plan for this shot was somewhat convoluted: I knew the rising moon time and azimuth, but it all depended on the time I would be able to return to Lisbon coming from the field trip...

So, I just rushed to the metro, exited and walked down this road to this belvedere, right on time.

Lisbon this time of the year means long days with nice light, so I plan to revisit the area a few more times, after work.

Here is another panorama, taken at the same time, more or less, from a different location.

Looks great. Thanks for the info about the Panorama Factory app. Have you had good success with it? Any comments about it from you, Paulo, or others?

I have been using Panorama Factory for a few years, I am no specialist on panoramas (mostly shoot handheld...). It works for me, nice and easy to follow the basic steps to get a decent results.
