Epson 1430 - Thick Paper Setting - Resolved
« on: July 09, 2014, 02:44:17 pm »

I have been using Red River San Gabriel paper in my Epson 1430. It is a wonderful paper but it is very thick and I am getting roller marks. These look like slightly glossy areas and only show in certain light angles.

I checked the Epson manual for the 1430 and there is a "thick paper" setting in the MAC driver interface. I am using Windows and there is no similar setting the Windows driver interface. I have heard rumors of a mechanical switch but the manual does not mention it.

Is anyone aware of a Windows setting for this machine that will allow it handle thick papers better?

I found an answer for this so I will post it:

Go the printer settings and select maintenance, then printer and options info. On the next panel there is setting for thick paper / envelopes. Check this.

I really enjoy using old primes on my m4/3 camera. There's something about having to choose your aperture and actually focusing your camera that makes it so much more like... like... PHOTOGRAPHY!
