I've been having a printing issue since upgrading Mac OS from 10.9.3 to 10.9.4, and wonder if anyone else is experiencing this or can help.

After I upgraded to 10.9.4, the following would happen whether printing from Photoshop CS 2014 or Lightroom 5.5. When I print an image to sheet paper, it works fine. But if I print to roll paper, the image gets rotated 90 degrees and shrunk down into the custom paper dimensions. (e.g. printing a 20x10 horizontal image in Lightroom to roll paper 24" wide x 12" tall, the image is rotated 90 and the image is shrunk, so that it's 20" width is now being fit within the 12" space.)

It feels like there is a conflict happening in the Print dialog for control. I noticed that changing the paper size will automatically switch the setting for Printer Settings > Page Setup. E.g. if my Page Setup was set to "Roll Paper", and I change Paper Size to a new custom roll size, Page Setup will switch to "Roll Paper Borderless".

To fix this, I downloaded the most recent driver (9.17) from Epson's site, and did a full re-install of the print driver and settings (reset printer system, trash the folders /Library/Printers/Epson and /Library/Cache/Epson, repair disk permissions, install new driver). But the problem remains. Any thoughts?

And now it will only print in normal (single-direction) speeed, even when set for high-speed (bi-directional) printing. Very odd. Will have to reset and reinstall the drivers... again.

Epson just quietly updated their driver software (July 14) and this fixed the problem. Same version number, but the file number for the download is now "epson16258.dmg".
