Took this a few weeks ago in Capital Reef on a very hot day.

Good textures on the rock, and some interest in the sky due to the inclusion of the moon. I like it, but to my eyes it is perhaps a bit too harsh/bright.

The light was not the best but with this B&W version, I like it. This photo conveys perfectly the impression of a massive rock on the flat surface.

I agree, the light was very harsh that day. But there was something about the moon, sky and rock that caught my eye.

The light was harsh the one time I was there, too. But you have inspired me to look at my photos from that area again to see if I might be able to get some life into them by monochroming them.

Temple of the Sun and the one of the Moon are spectacular rocks, but it seemed hard (for me, at least) to show them to avantage.

You've done a great job presenting this image in it's best light (pun intended). Well done! Only one minor suggestion... use a grad filter to shape the  foreground area: start at the bottom with -0.5 (or so) and drag up to the base of the "Temple". It will add a very subtle (even subliminal) "containment field" so to speak.
