Acadia National Park by QT Luong
« on: June 26, 2014, 08:53:49 am »

Thanks QT for the great article, superb photos and links.

I have been an admirer of QT since my days of large format and continue to appreciate all he gives to the world of photography including his large format forum. I hope some day to take a Vietnam tour with him, and look forward to more articles from QT here on LuLa.

Kind regards,
Darr

A few years ago I saw a stunning exhibit of his large-format National Park prints. It's incredible the way he manages to steep himself in the spirit of each park so that his images really give a sense of what it is like to be there.

As a New Englander, I am more familiar with Acadia than with any other National Park. I was interested to see that he didn't haul his view camera to the top of the Bubbles for his shot of Jordan Pond. Even his "small camera" work is superb.

So let me add my thanks to QT for this fine article!

For someone like me, who probably will never visit these places, the photos just sing. Wonderful article.

Wonderful article and great photos. Reminded me of how much more there is to Acadia National Park than we saw in our few days visit. And why we vowed to return.
Thanks.

QT is one of the people I "blame" for my feeble foray into large format. The "Why large format" page he has on the largeformatphotography.info directory, in which he shows the entire 5 x 7 and small selections from the same 5 x 7, is certainly tantalizing. Thanks, QT, for your photography and your educational and community-building efforts.

I want to thank QT for the article and we have aged on more to come on a regular basis.  His work is beautiful and to have shot in all 59 National Parks not to mention shoot them in large format is a rare and great achievement.

I look forward as I hope everyone else does to more from QT.

Hi, I was just trying to find the original article, Acadia National Park by QT Luong, referenced in this string of posts. Is that on a different Web site, or from his blog? Couldn't link to it from this board. Thanks!

The reason I ask: We're writing a blog item about QT Luong and Acadia National Park, and would love to refer to the article. Check out our blog at www.acadiaonmymind.com, or our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/acadiaonmymind.

And here is the link, now that it is done. We've included link to the Luminous Landscape essay in the blog post as well. And if you have a Facebook page, we'll post it on there for those who may want to view it there.

Went over to Luminous Landscape Facebook page and Liked it, but realized it doesn't allow posts to page. Otherwise I would have posted link to our blog post about QT Luong and Acadia. If you find the post of interest, feel free to share it on Facebook or Twitter. Thanks!
