Canon GP-E2 question

Does anyone know whether the Canon GP-E2 GPS unit can be used with the 1Ds Mark III? I've only seen mention of use with the 1Dx and 5D3. I have a 1Dx, but for a personal trip I have coming up, I want to take the 1Ds3. Otherwise, I'd just go ahead and get the GPS made for the 1Dx. Thanks for the help.
