Auction site fright.
« on: May 26, 2014, 06:43:55 am »

I happened across this today -

http://www.i-bidder.com/en-gb/auction-catalogues/wellers-auctioneers/catalogue-id-ibwe10563

and thought it might be worth a punt until I came across the following conditions -

VAT on hammer: 20.00%
Buyer's Premium: 25.00%
Internet surcharge: 5.00%

Yep, that's a whole 50% on top of the hammer price and no credit/debit cards accepted.

It makes Ebay look good and I never thought I'd be saying that.

They also have a wonderful guarantee, pretty much to the effect that they won't tell you if the item you want has been run over by a truck.
