Black-necked Stilt
« on: May 15, 2014, 10:51:35 am »

I did a quick road trip last week down to Central Washington to pick off a few species that can be found up here in BC but are much harder to photograph here.

The Black-necked Stilt was a main target so I was happy to find this guy one morning :-)

Camera Model: Canon EOS 7D
Shutter speed: 1/320 sec
Aperture: 6.3
Exposure compensation: +2/3
ISO: 400
Lens: EF600mm f/4L IS II USM +1.4x

I can't believe I am the first one commenting this wonderful shot. The reflection in the calm water gives an extra dimension.

Truly beautiful with those soft colors. I guess people are in awe looking at Glenn's work!

I've run out of superlatives, but I do eagerly await each new posting that Glenn makes.
This one, too, is superb.

I didn't comment right away because I'm jealous  ;)  The Black-necked Stilt can be very difficult to get close to w/o a blind, I'm not surprised Glenn used a 600mm lens, 1.4x extender & a cropped sensor to make this beautiful photo.

You forgot "lying on his belly, in swamp, with tripod holding camera 6 inches above the water".....    ;D

Another very lovely image, Glenn.
