Sinar 54M (Fiber Optic) on newer hardware?
« on: May 12, 2014, 03:26:45 pm »

We are running a Sinar54M (FO) on a PowerMacG5 2.7Ghz. The mac has finally succumbed to the years of hard work we have put it through. The short term plan is to replace the machine, but I am wondering if there are any Fiber Optic cards that would run on newer Mac Pro Hardware with PCI-E. I know Capture Shop will run on a Mac Pro because I do it every day capturing over the network and exporting from my main system. Just need to know if there is a way to get it to recognize the camera with a newer card. The card we currently have is PCI133 which will only work on a G5.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi Scott. In the PDF file that comes with Captureshop 6.1.2 ( Readme File ) you can read :

Depending on the used hardware, PCI, PCI RAM (PCI 1, 2 und 3) oder PCI-X (133, 333) are supported.
Fiberoptic-Backs are not supported on Intel-based Computers.
