Spring in Aktau, Kazkhstan
« on: May 12, 2014, 04:11:27 am »

I visit this town regularly, on business, and I always take a small camera with me (this time it was the Fuji X100). Last time I was there, in early February, the temperature was below zero degrees, with plenty of cold weather.

This time, in April, the weather was a bit balmier, and I took my usual stroll near the sea. This area is being rejuvenated, but one can see it has not been well taken care for, for many years. Still, the afternoon warmth invited people to go out and relax. I took a few shots, and opted for a B&W treatment that to my mind conveyed a certain nostalgic look.

Kind regards.

I really like the last one! Hard to tell but the horizon does look a little slanted to the left though.

Very good set of images. I like the last two best, probably because there's no sign of modern life. B&W works beautifully to create this timeless mood.

The second one of the lady is my pick, but all 4 are very good.
