Hi Riaan

I saw this post drifting slowly down the list and know how that feels when no-one responds...

I find it very difficult to pass comments on styles of photography that I don't "do" - I don't feel qualified, unless it is something very special that even I can see it!
This picture is one of a sequence of similar beach shots - some of which I found appealing, in spite of it not being "my thing".

My immediate reaction to this one was the "dirty pinkness" of it and wondered whether that was intentional, either way, I find it quite overwhelming.

I am sorry I can't be more constructive because I do not know what your intention with the picture is. Perhaps some of the other guys might chip in here.

Hi Riaan, You've sort of exhausted this vein. Maybe it's time to try something different.

Funny you said that, Russ, it does look like one, from the inside ;)

Good point, Slobodan. It hadn't occurred to me.

Fatty deposits, which are white-ish, when mixed with red, result in... pink... Color 101, my friend!  ;D

The photographer in me can't see past the white balance.

The artist in me looks past the pink and loves the shapes and swirls and movement around the almost sharp area of the wave towards the right side.

Would I put it on my wall (which is, for me, the ultimate test)? Not as it is with the pink hues, but brightened up and colour-neutralized, it might just work.

Thanks everyone. The "pink glow" is from light reflected off clouds just after sunset, doesn't happen often so I was fortunate to be on the beach when it did as it is an other wordly experience. Attached is a pic of the other time I saw "the show."
