Poster paper for canon

Hi all

I am looking for a good quality poster paper around 120gsm to be used on canon ipf 6400.

Anyone have any ideas or good papers they are already using for this ?

I'm using Canon Satin Photographic 240gsm. Works great. I tried the 190gsm version and it's a bit too thin for my tastes.

Maybe this is a stupid question...
What does " poster" mean in this context? Is there an agreed on definition? I see people using this term often, but I'm not sure if it means the same thing to everyone.
I assume it is a large picture (20" x 30" +/- ) printed on thinner inexpensive paper. Is this correct? Does it have anything to do with the content or is it just size and low quality?

yes
back in the time when poster was printer on press, we usually use 80lb coated text or uncoated text
which is about 120gsm in inkjet printer paper.
thin and inexpensive would be most likely the way to discrib them

I would look at the Canon 170 gsm paper. It isn't much more expensive than the 120 sgm and the extra weight is definately a help with larger prints. It will take a slightly higher ink load, which gives a little more saturation making it better for proofing.

24" x 100' of 120 gsm is $33.50
24" X 100' of 170 gsm is $35.00

The 170 gsm also comes in a larger selection of widths.
