Well...you'll have a lot of choices!
First off, the Santa Fe old town is worthy of a day of walking around shooting...(and seeing the sights). Outside of Santa Fe, there's the Pecos National Historical Park
. Also, a day trip from Santa Fe would be Bandelier National Monument
. Also another day trip would be Taos, NM
and perhaps the Taos Pueblo
. Note, shooting at the Taos Pueblo can be somewhat problematic...
South from Santa Fe there's the Turquoise Trail
which will take you through some pretty quirky (but safe) towns. If you have the time you can also try to hit Chaco Canyon
. It's a bit of a drive on some pretty bad roads, but it's pretty cool.
And, of course there's Ghost Ranch
and Abiquiú, NM
home of Georgia O'Keeffe (her house is open for tours through the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum
). You must see the museum...
